The latest laureates of this most prestigious national award were announced at a special briefing by Presidential Aide Andrei Fursenko. As per tradition, President Vladimir Putin has presented the National Awards on Russia Day, June 12.
The 2023 Russian Federation National Award for outstanding achievements in science and technology has been awarded to:
Sergei Gautier, Director of the Shumakov National Medical Research Center of Transplantology and Artificial Organs of Ministry of Health Care of Russian Federation,
Marina Minina, Head of the Moscow City Coordination Center for Organ Donation of the Botkin City Hospital,
Mogeli Khubutia, President of the Sklifosovsky Research Institute of Emergency Care
for the development, scientific substantiation and implementation in the clinical practice of domestic healthcare of original technologies for the transplantation of vital organs.
Mikhail Kovalchuk, President of the Kurchatov Institute,
Eugeny Adamov, Director of the Research and Design, Institute of Power Engineering,
Vladimir Asmolov, Advisor to the Director General of Rosatom
for the series of fundamental and applied research, development and experimental technological works that made an outstanding contribution to the development of scientific and technical foundations, substantiation and implementation of the strategy for the two-component development of nuclear energy in the Russian Federation.
Peter Chumakov, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Head of the Cell Proliferation Laboratory at the Engelhardt Institute of Molecular Biology for the studies of the functions of the gene of the main tumor suppressor p53 in health and pathology.
The National Awards for outstanding achievements in science and technology is the highest recognition of the merits of scientists to society and the state. Four such awards are awarded annually. Since 2020, this award amount is 10 million rubles each. The award is presented by the President of the Russian Federation for outstanding works, discoveries and achievements, the results of which significantly contributed to national and international research and had a significant impact on the scientific and technological progress.
