In accordance with the grant agreements, the grant recipients submitted to the Foundation scientific and financial reports on the progress of their projects. The reporting materials were reviewed by external referees and were discussed by the relevant scientific panels of three RSF Expert Councils. As a result of the review, 24 projects were recommended for termination due to their poor scientific progress. The principle investigators of these projects are subject to restrictions on participation in the RSF calls in the next three years.

In 2025’s first round of awards, the RSF announced funding for 843 new research projects. Details of the approved projects are now available online. Out of 4 491 applications submitted, 534 projects performed by research teams will be funded for three years. Out of 554 applications for extension, 280 projects are granted two-years extensions. Out of 293 interdisciplinary proposals, 29 ambitious projects were awarded.
