On the 20th of June the RSF Director General Alexander Khlunov met with the Indian delegation headed by the Secretary to the Government of India, Department of Science and Technology, Ashutosh Sharma.

"We are satisfied with the results of the first joint call for Russian-Indian research proposals, as we jointly funded 17 projects in the cutting-edge research fields." We are optimistic about the future cooperation and would like to focus on improving the quality of science in our upcoming joint efforts. This year we launched a large-scale presidential program aimed to support outstanding research projects of the early-career Russian scientists. We are ready to exchange with Indian partners the experiences of running such programs ", said Alexander Khlunov.

"We fully share the approach aimed at increasing the effectiveness of our cooperation. We are also interested in more active involvement of Indian students in the implementation of joint projects," added Ashutosh Sharma.

As a result of negotiations, the parties signed an agreement intended to launch the second joint call for proposals with implementation in 2019-2021. The call is scheduled to be announced in the summer of 2018.
